An opportunity has arisen within E McIntyre & Sons Ltd for a full time Warehouse Operative to work as part of our distribution team based at the Company’s head office in Upperlands.

The Company was founded in 1958 and specialises in the import, sale and distribution of tools and equipment across the UK and Ireland, in large part through its own tool brand, Jefferson Professional Tools & Equipment. It is part of a larger Group which incorporates the limited companies MacGen Power Generation and Frenstar Valves.

This position involves assisting with the day-to-day activities of the warehouse, whilst simultaneously ensuring that internal and external service levels are continuously achieved.

Main Duties:

  • Ensure that stock is binned, picked, packed & dispatched on a daily basis, in-line with agreed standards and deadlines
  • Assist with the loading / unloading of transport vehicles and shipping containers
  • Maintain inventory accuracy
  • Continually ensure maximum utilisation of warehouse space
  • Reduce unacceptable costs associated with warehouse activities, stock discrepancies, damaged stock, courier costs, etc.
  • Ensure adherence to existing health and safety legislation
  • Regular stocktaking

 

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • 1 year of warehouse experience is preferred but not essential
  • Previous experience using stock control systems preferred but not essential
  • Must be a team player
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and a quick learner who is flexible and adaptable
  • Forklift experience preferred but not essential (forklift license desirable)

 

Remuneration

  • Salary for the role will be conditional upon skills and experience
  • Hours of work are 39 hours per week
  • Annual paid holidays of 28 days per annum
  • Relevant training will be provided where required
